Doing your Exchange at UCR
Doing your Exchange at UCR
Everything you need to know to make UCR your home for a semester

Spending a semester at UCR is an exciting opportunity to broaden your academic and personal horizons. Here, you will join a vibrant international community in the heart of historic Middelburg, where students from all over the world live and learn together. With small, interactive classes you will be challenged to think across disciplines. Beyond the classroom you can get involved in over 20 student-run societies, or any of the cultural events, and sports activities. Add to that the charm of living in a safe, picturesque city just a short bike ride from the beach, which also has easy train connections to Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Brussels, and even Paris, and your exchange at UCR promises to be as enriching as it is unforgettable.
Course Choices
Course Choices
At UCR, students design their own curriculum by choosing courses across disciplines and as an exchange student, you have the same freedom during your semester with us. You can select four courses from our broad range of offerings, allowing you to tailor your academic experience to your interests and goals. Course choices are made during the application process, and detailed information about what is available can be found on our cluster pages.

Application
The application process for exchange students is slightly different from the regular UCR application. Once you are nominated by your home university, you will receive a link to the OSIRIS application system. There you will be asked to submit your official transcripts, a motivation letter, and, if required, proof of English proficiency. Deadlines are March for students wishing to join us in the Fall semester, and October for those starting in the Spring semester.
