Here to Support Your Journey
If you’re a student from outside the European Economic Area (EEA), you pay a significantly higher tuition fee. That’s a big commitment—and the Friends of UCR recognize it.
To help make your education more accessible, the Friends provide financial loans and grants tailored specifically for non-EEA students who demonstrate both need and merit.
Need-Based Loans for Non-EEA Students
Need-Based Loans for Non-EEA Students
If you’re in your second or third year at UCR and hold a non-EEA nationality, you may be eligible to apply for a loan from the Friends of UCR.
These loans are designed to help students from outside the EEA manage financial challenges during their studies. They are awarded based on need and academic performance, with the following conditions:
- You have a non-EEA nationality
- You’ve earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Your combined parental income is under €30,000 per year
This support exists to recognize the higher financial burden non-EEA students face.
